Exciting times on stage

I’ve been so busy with my plays I’ve hardly done anything else! Right now I am learning fencing and rehearsing Dream Theatre Company‘s reimagining of Hamlet: The Tragedy of Amleth, Princess of Denmark (I play Ophelia).

and I took this picture of Anna W Menekseoglu, who plays Amleth:

We traveled to Milwaukee for a staged reading of the upcoming The Dreamchild Neverists:  The Birthday Adventures of Olive, Who Accidentally Wished Herself Unhappy

I also played Tiger Lilly in Peter Pan’s Shadow Part Three: Foreverland

Praise from The Chicago Reader: http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/foreverland/Event?oid=7975069

Praise from New City: http://newcitystage.com/2012/12/03/review-peter-pans-shadow-part-3-foreverlanddream-theatre-company/

I got some AMAZING reviews for my performance this year in the one-woman horror show Anna, In The Darkness:

The Reader called my performance “flawless”!

New City called it “a tour de force”! and names it a top 5 horror play of 2012!

Not bad for a self-shot in no light, I think.

The Reader also loved A Very Terrible Father, calling our performances “artful.”

I’m tired just writing all that.

Back on stage!

I am over the moon to report that I am back with my first love, the stage, and Dream Theatre Company in a new show!

Not only is this important to me because it’s my first show back after a long hiatus, but the role itself has a special resonance. Two Germans, dying of cancer, travel to a Florida theme park to make amends with a long-lost daughter. It is beautiful and funny and heartbreaking and I want everyone to see this incredible show.

Tonight is the night!

I am performing in the Windy City Burlesque Festival tonight at 8 p.m.at Stage 773, on Belmont near Racine, on the North Side of Chicago! I am performing with some heavyweights tonight including burlesque legend Tiffany Carter! Stop by and say hi after the show!

In other news, I had a great rehearsal with The World of the Weird Monster Show for next month’s Rocky Horror Picture Show live cast, my new Suicide Girls set was submitted today, and I have been asked to join the cast of Vaudezilla, Chicago’s best burlesque troupe, who you may have caught on WICU this morning promoting the festival.

Very exciting things!

So much going on!

I just got back from an amazing three-week vacation drinking beer and eating falafel on the beach. Unfortunately, taking three weeks to do blissful nothing means that I was slammed with work before I left and panic has set in upon my return, especially when it’s 4 a.m. and I’m awake answering over a thousand messages and emails and there’s nothing in the house but Doritos and screw-top chardonnay.

So! I have much news!

First, the Windy City Burlesque Festival is almost here! I am performing in the 8 p.m. showcase on Friday, July 13. I am very excited! This is an international burlesque festival and I’m honored to be a part of it. If you have never seen burlesque, if you have seen so much burlesque you are burnt out, or if you are somewhere in between, I promise this festival will be an incredible experience. More info here: http://windycityburlesquefest.com/

Next, I have new photos up on Zivity! Come see me celebrate Pride in the Gayest Dress Ever! Also, Zivity has a new feature where you don’t even have to sign up if you want to see just one set; you can pay to unlock only the photos you want to see. Come check it out! http://www.zivity.com/models/SalomeSlaughter/photosets/8

Very soon you will be seeing new pictures of me on Suicide Girls as well! Lavonne did an amazing job so keep your eyes peeled for my naked take on medieval texts and Mr. Bungle.

I will also be performing with my wonderful World of the Weird Monster Show cast members in a well-reviewed monthly Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast at the Wilmette Theatre! I am starting off as Magenta but you can bet this broad will be learning to tap. ;) Come see us the second Friday of every month here: http://www.wilmettetheatre.com/events/

If that weren’t enough, I have several shoots booked with models for Suicide Girls and Zivity, I have a few sets of my own still to edit (including one by Guns that I can’t wait to show you), I have a bunch of sets from SG staff photographers to edit, and big plans for new burlesque numbers. I need ten more hours in every day!

** Also very important! Do you live in the Chicago area and have an apartment / house / backyard / workplace / any other setting that would look good with a beautiful half-dressed woman in it? I am always in need of locations for photoshoots, particularly locations that get a lot of good natural light. I have several shoots coming up and I need places to put my models! Please let me know!

Windy City Burlesque Festival!
